The big Ruby deposits in Burmese Mong Hsu and Madagascar was found long after this Ruby is certified. Also the "flux healing" treatment of thoose Rubys wich is under discussion was not existent at that time.

Therefore you here have very rare Rubys far more rare than diamonds for example. EGL or European Gemological Labratory is one of the biggest Lab´s in the world however not as respected as the famous GIA. Only this certificate would probably cost about $100 at the time it was produced in 1985.
